RECRUITMENT

MediaLab accepts applications for new members twice each year, once during the Fall Semester and once during the Spring. Successful candidates for MediaLab tend to exhibit the following attributes and characteristics:

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Self-motivated
  • Willing to accept and rise to challenges
  • Responsible and dependable
  • Comfortable as both leaders and team–players
  • Work well with peers
  • Take direction well
  • Work well independently
  • Consistently meet deadlines
  • Professional demeanor
  • Respectful of others
  • Interested and willing to learn and develop new skills in all facets of media, including:
    • Public Relations
    • Photography
    • Mass Communication Writing
    • Videography and Video Editing
    • Marketing, and more.

MEDIALAB APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • MediaLab Cover Page (Available here)
  • Cover letter
  • Resume
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A 300–word essay about something of personal or professional interest
  • A portfolio of samples that demonstrate artistry/skill (minimum of three samples of writing, art, video, etc.)

Incomplete applications, or those containing grammar, spelling or factual errors will be automatically disqualified.
